For the past several months I've been watching the river as I cross over on the way home. I've been wanting a photo of the pedestrian bridge reflected in the water. On days that I had my big camera with me the river has been choppy and non-reflective. On days when there was some reflection I would find that I didn't have my camera. I had hoped to get a picture of it for last week's photo challenge in [ profile] croc_sandwich, but it didn't work out.

It was clear yesterday but, as usual, I didn't have my camera. This morning I made sure it was in the trunk and as I made my way home from my PT appointment (Yay! I'm so glad I got to go. I have a Plan to get my hips feeling better.:-) ) I looked out over the bridge and saw the calmest water I have ever seen on the American River.

I managed not to crash as I did a small happy dance in the driver's seat, then pulled off and hiked back to the bridge to take a few pictures. Ok, eighty nine, but who's counting?

I'm still trying to decide which one I like for the bridge, but here's one that amused me.

Just to remind myself because sometimes I forget.

We have grapes getting ripe in our back yard. They are yummy and getting tastier every week.

Some of the best strawberries I have ever eaten were purchased at the farmer's market this morning.

I *love* the drying rack I got at IKEA earlier this month. I can air dry my towels in just about the same time they would take in the dryer - only without using the electricity.

My friend absolutely loved the baby blanket I made for her and gave her at her shower this week.

S and I saw a gorgeous butterfly on our walk to the store this afternoon.

It's fun to watch the squirrels in our yard. This one was hanging out on the tree outside our bedroom window.

I took lots of photos over the weekend, but I'm only posting a small number of them here for NoNoNoNo.

It's a hard knock life

Boy, was it ever windy today! As I walked down the street to lunch, I saw berries of all colors that had been blown from the trees and accumulated in the corners and cracks of the sidewalk. I couldn't resist taking some pictures. I like the way this one turned out. :-)

There's not much going on here lately. Life has settled down into our school year pattern and I like the steady rhythm of the days passing.

S brought dinner home from Boston Market tonight. It was yummy. C just opened up the dessert they bought - it has chocolate in it!

Gotta go get me some before it's all gone! ;-)

One of my patients dropped by today and brought us presents - wood cut fans. Evidently she has had these for more than 30 years. They are so pretty!

I feel so special! We keep telling her that she doesn't need to bring anything when she comes in. She keeps saying that she knows, but that she likes to do it, so we thank her, smile, and appreciate what she brings.

C was given this huge purple pillow last month. He left it in the middle of the living room floor today and Sparky found it as soon as she came in. I think she knows that she's not supposed to be on it, but she looks so cute there that I didn't shoo her off. I hope the pictures show up - they're kind of dark... )

Today was a loooonnnngggg day at work. Every patient took longer than normal, plus I had my student working with me today - that always slows things down. I expect the next week and a half to be full of long days like this - it's the price I pay for taking a vacation next month. [10 days and counting!]

I was too tired to plan anything for dinner, so we had breakfast. I was so happy - my milk gravy turned out really well. I haven't made it in years, so I wasn't sure that it would (it rarely did before), but I had a craving for it as soon as I decided to do breakfast foods for dinner. We had bacon & eggs with biscuits and gravy. Yum!
